My name is Shay, and right now im currently pursuing my master's degree in reading specialization at Adrian College, but there's a lot more to me than just academics.
​
Beyond the classroom, I'm a big advocate for living a full and authentic life. Teaching is my passion, no doubt about it, but it doesn't define every inch of who I am. I believe in embracing all parts of ourselves, unapologetically and without reservation. We shouldn't have to hide our passions or interests just because we're educators, right?
When I'm not immersed in the world of education, you'll find me embracing various passions and interests. First things first, I'm head over heels for my fur baby, Kova. She brings so much love and laughter into my life—I can't imagine a day without her. Music has been a lifelong love of mine—I've been writing songs and playing instruments since childhood. It's a creative outlet that helps me recharge and express myself outside the classroom. Staying active is also a big part of my routine, whether it's cheering with my team at Adrian or hitting the gym solo. (Edit)
